ArlingtonA Poem by Destiny DoréRain poured blending with
the tears from the innocent Gravestones stained from
grief and anger Grass wet from the mix,
for those left behind The green of new life Alive with the bodies of
those departed Tears keep coming Paths are tread
Another hole added to the
verdant grounds Bodies lying next to each
other While rivalries in life,
are forgotten in death People who have never met
bound together for eternity Widows are collapsing by
open graves Tears keep coming Paths are tread
Stone angels and pillars
dot the skyline Faded monuments to lives
lost, and wars won To memories of souls gone Freedom fighters who
never gave up An Unknown solider is
kept under watch Tears keep coming Paths are tread
A routine continues, like day and night Lives lost to the
humanity of Man Families ripped apart by
War Shots heard into the
black of night Accompanied by the
silence of grief Tears keep coming Paths are tread
Another morning always
comes Flags rise with the
voices of freedom Unknown graves walked by
without a glance For the fighters of wars
lost And Freedom gained Tears keep coming Paths are tread
The routine continues,
like Day and Night Time stands still, in this place of Death. © 2015 Destiny DoréReviews
