Danger

Danger

A Poem by Kristen

It took only one moment,

One rash, hurried decision,

And then you were gone.

A force, silent and irrepressible,

In the seemingly harmless daylight

Took you, carried you away from me;

Never to return.

The car: a metal deathtrap

And oh, how those words ring true.

Some people crave them so they can be free and wild;

All I crave is to have you

Back.

They say that technology betters us,

That it solves all of our problems.

In my opinion, it’s destroying us slowly,

And making us take things for granted.

Before you drive, text, or log in online,

Think of the implications it could cause.

Awareness is the only thing that can save us.
