Moving On

Moving On

A Story by Kristen

"Moving on, is a simple thing, what it leaves behind is hard.” - Dave Mustaine

"

The day comes. You wake up, and your first immediate thought has nothing to do with them. Initially, you’re relieved. They aren’t controlling your every thought anymore. As the day continues, however, worry starts to set in. Why? What changed so dramatically in order to cause this?

You may never know the answer to those questions. All you know is that you’ve moved on. And though this does come with some happiness and some relief, a new emotion sets in. Confusion. Does this mean that this person means nothing to you anymore, or just that they don’t mean as much to you? Questions incessantly race through your mind.

But, above all else, you know that you’re still alone; deep down inside of your heart there is still some small shred of pain there to remind you that all of this was real. And maybe that’s okay. Life is full of experiences, some more painful than others, and that was just another experience. No big deal. So all you have to do now is live your life to the fullest, with or without them.

Preferably without them.
