Inhibitions

Inhibitions

A Poem by Kristen

Inhibitions: there for a reason, it seems,

Acting out what you only saw in dreams,

Tearing apart your core at the seams,

But God knows it’s a nightmare.

One encounter too many,

The mild innocence of twenty,

Craving to possess the charisma of Jenny,

But God knows she’s a terror.

The sweet taste of liquor,

I’ve been much sicker.

Setting your heart to beat to the ticker

Of a clock that tolls your demise.

Inhibitions, inhibitions -

The walls will no longer contain me.

Inhibitions, inhibitions -

The world is not out there to save me.

Wow... I thought this piece was greatly expressed, written, and felt. It's powerful and it flowed together so well. I think the first three verses were brilliant, particularly the first verse being near perfect in both expressing and feeling pain, flow, and rhyme. There's so many different reasons why this piece is so great, excellently done. I am glad to see you're back and hope you continue to post more writings!
