Mirage in the Distance

Mirage in the Distance

A Poem by Just Charles

A mirage in the distance

The absolute splitting image of my biggest mistake.

Each freckle, more revolting than the previous.

I suffocate.

At such a resemblance,

I remain at a blockade.

Is it really her?

My biggest mistake?

The root of my regret?

Has she wandered her way back into my life again,

Exactly four years after the great spring cleaning.

Such a simple writing to give out a picture of a memory. Funny that my mind now is having the same thought as your poem. I like the title, by the way. Good work. Will read your other writing soon :)

Talk about a I hope/I hope not mentality. We have all felt this same exact way. I love the boldness of these lines, not melancholy, just flat out questioning. your writes are always A-one stellar..Great piece!!
