The OathA Poem by Patrick O'NeilI made an Oath, many, many years ago. An Oath made freely, willingly. This Oath was made not alone. I said the words, that sealed the bond, The words were true, spoken without regret. Wrapped around my heart, it warms and protects in winter storms. I never let them slipway, believing them still now, still today. This Oath has great value, value unseen Pure and precious beyond all that glitters like gold. It is the cornerstone, the pillars of all the hearts rooms. Built by man and wife, blessed by divine grace. Together the Oath is made, together forever. Never splinter, nor drift and never to go astray. Bound by Love, Honor, Trust and Forgiveness. Bound by God till death us do part. Simple little words, said in presence of but a few. Echoing to the future, far beyond the mortal view. Just You and Me and a promise. I DO! © 2013 Patrick O'NeilAuthor's Note
