Days of winter coldA Poem by Patrick O'NeilHave you ever felt physical pain, in your heart? With the thought of self disgust, self worthlessness? You have no place in this world, no matter how hard you try. Every thing around you, screams! Outcast!, no room for you. Days like today, it overruns me. it takes my heart, beats it numb. Dead, but still I breath. Like a bad joke. Days like this, it's just painful. Maybe tomorrow, the sun will bring warn peace, the mood will swing. Little glimmer of hope, in dark hallows, just a flicker, on a short candle, to face the howling wind of sorrow. Lonely, lost and excluded. Always on the outside looking in. Bitter, cold, shivering and forgotten. Winter heart, hard as steel frozen solid. Captured in your arctic tundra. Will you every let me go? © 2013 Patrick O'NeilAuthor's Note
