Hornets nest

Hornets nest

A Poem by Patrick O'Neil

Do you really, want this? Just stop, and think! You don't know what you're up against. You think, size give you advantage? Because I am calmly hidden in a corner, I pose no threat? These thoughts only show, pride and vanity. They scream, of stupidity. If I, let loose, all my fury. Bragging soon turns, to regretful, whimpering. My vengeance will blacken the sky. Humming in perfect synchronicity, Your imminent, demise. You will try to fight. They always do. Only to fuel my hunger, to gorge on your flesh. Till you are dead still, with not one, morsel left. You tempt me, little do you know. I have deep longing, to let run the dogs of war. Visible, are but a few. In the shadows, we are legion. Venom’s death, ready and waiting. You think you can handle this? Go on then, make your move. Shake me, ..Please!?
