Eclipse

Eclipse

A Poem by Psychotic Lily
"

My love for you is like how the moon chases the sun. Never once do they meet but only during an eclipse...

"
If only I can let my heart speak to you this Valentines
I will only continue to look afar
Praying that one day you'll be mine
Because we can't be together as we are

He is the sun god Helios to bright to look
I am the moon goddess Luna chasing after his glory
The love of Luna hidden in pages of a book
My unrequited love story

Eros I thank him for this Valentine eclipse
At last we are in the same sky
Finally I can see you even just glimpse
But I cannot reach you set in the sky too high

I beseech to see you once again
Even though your apathy is my bane
Till the next eclipse I hope would end in our plight
I will guide the people in the dark as you have blessed them in the light.

Author's Note

Psychotic Lily
This is one of my early, rushed, and unedited work for a school project with a valentine theme... (in short please forgive me since this work is kinda !@#$%). Plight also means marriage if anyone's going to ask.

I really love the extended metaphor you made. The theme sort of reminded me of a poem called "A Valediction Forbidding Mourning" by John Donne, in which he uses a mathematical compass to compare the distance between two lover, far but never straying too far. Well done!

Thank you very much. I haven't read that poem yet. But I'm curious, I'll go read it later.

I was just going to ask what plight means.

The poem is different, but I somehow liked it.
The way you wrote it is good, keep going.
