Shiragiku (Unfinished)

Shiragiku (Unfinished)

A Poem by Simon Welsh
"

Won't you please stay awake?

"

The most slender flower

shakes her petals

She doesn't yield to the sun

because the day is cruel enough

The most slender flower

falls apart in my hands

Blooming in the night

you shed beauty when you cry

Won't you please stay awake?

There will be no beauty

in my life when you're gone

This world wasn't right for you

you find peace in the rain

Your heart soars

to a place I'll never be

far beyond the rest of us

The most slender flower

feeds on the mirage of joy

Some might say the flower is the mirage and the joy eternal. Such a pleasure to read your work.

This was so beautiful, Ell. Legit brought tears to my eyes. That doesn't happen often.
