A Poem by Simon Welsh
"

I don't belong around other people

"
Little ruby pools
My happiness is
whatever becomes boring
I don't belong around other people
I just drown
in their voices
Their collective stare scars me

I am sick of myself
Weak, stupid and pathetic
Not beautiful or an ideal
Never good enough
but I frame these
little ruby pools
Let me wash away the ache

Embrace; like broken glass
What doesn't faze other people
holds me back with little effort
Press down on my wounds
I was too cowardly to let bleed
little ruby pools
They could have saved me

Very sad and dark, so much emotion expressed in this piece of writing. I can relate to a lot of this, it really had me absorbing these words so much and feeling the power behind them.

I love that powerful last stanza and how it resonates like the ending of a great song you're probably just going to replay. damn man it sounds so out of control and permanent. f*****g gets me inspired why aren't you famous?
