Drown SunshineA Poem by Simon WelshPain isn't an accessory
She eats the petals of flowers
even as they wilt and rot inside her No scars of mine are symmetrical because pain isn't an accessory Threw a rope around the moon thought of hanging myself there Still, the dreams of stars explode 'round me There's nothing like watching hopes die A halo of chewed roses, a scratched arm I'll tear at myself till I feel content Rain drowns the last bit of sunshine maybe now I wash these feelings away © 2015 Simon WelshReviews
