I'll spend my cold, lonely hours
listening to this old cassette
Skipping back again just to hear that one song
I am defined by anger, doubt and melancholia The most delicate part of my mind has been tarnished by life That wistful stare out onto the great unknown where I can only see wreckage and debris defines what I have left behind
Until Heaven sparkles I'll wander upon the powder snow The sky smiles frosty upon us all yet we only feel our own pain
I'll spend my cold, lonely hours listening to this old cassette Skipping back again just to hear that one song I don't want to think about tomorrow let this moment last forever crystallized in time
Until the darkness shimmers I'll wander upon the powder snow My footsteps reveal a man unsure of his path in his existence
I loved the scene of the old cassette tapes and you're right we only notice our own pain most of the time. But what can we do about knowing our paths and destiny? Because if we knew exactly what we were supposed to do there wouldn't be any room for challenge and mistakes which so evidently define us. Good job with this one
I liked the first couple lines the most because we all have a weakness or something that makes us 'delicate'. Many don't like to admit it either. Amazing poem
