Soft MetalA Poem by Simon WelshI could hide in a bed of soft leaves
Pull the tendrils down from the ceiling
I want to believe in something again Remain with me, even for a little while till the black swallows my heart I'll waste away in your embrace and I'll certainly wither in ignorance Spider webs jewel the walls I could hide in a bed of soft leaves but you'll need me and I'll come running Until you leave for the hundredth time or I'm just wrong to think that I wish I was mist so I could fade... Beautiful brown eyes look past me and I am inspired to be alone once more The metallic hands that clamp upon my brain keep me where I am wanted Even when I want to sleep I'm kept awake in a dull restraint Shine on me for a little while I need you more than ever but you're nowhere to be found Pull the tendrils down from the ceiling I want to believe in something again Remain with me, even for a little while and we'll paint this room in Saturn's tears You're a perfect snowflake immortalized in the happiness I never felt © 2014 Simon WelshReviews
