Forever

Forever

A Poem by Simon Welsh
"

Maybe if I was the most gentle song I'd flow upon the breeze forever in your heart

"
I wish I was the pastoral fields
ready to fade far beyond this town
To be as colourful as the flowers
that deserve more adoration than I
Maybe if I was the most gentle song
I'd flow upon the breeze
forever in your heart

I'll be happy enough to wander
upon the fields where horses roam
I'll always be here waiting
just in case you want to find a new town
and make a new start
where the sun calls home

I wish I was a lone tree
wearing a crown of frozen leaves
Or a single raindrop hanging from a leaf
ready to find where rainbows are born
Maybe if I was in your arms
I'd need not the wonders of Nature
I'll be forever in your heart

Am I more than the undesirable season of Winter?
Am I the wings of a dragonfly flapping softly?
I'll remain in the embrace of this emerald palace
hoping you'll wander by
with your eyes sparkling with promise

There is a season and place for every person, even those who love winter.
