Rainbows Rise From the Rain

Rainbows Rise From the Rain

A Poem by Simon Welsh
"

There goes yet another good memory

"

He followed the falling stars to Heaven
A cosmic love only he could understand
I saw rainbows rise from the rain
and though, I was soaked to the bone
I felt the warmth of the dawn
So many found that enlightened path
from darkness to a golden bridge
Life passes by so fast
and before regret is born
there goes yet another good memory
He surely felt the same sadness too
It’s what links us all
The ennui that soon becomes acceptance
Even a smile can be found
I don’t want to be sad anymore
I’ve found something wonderful
I just don’t know if I can live with it

Wow. Absolutely beautiful...stunning! Really, it holds such elegance and charm. Keep writing! I love how descriptive you are, I am in love with your word-choice, and how it flows, there is movement in this poem, I fell in love with its colorful mood. It's eerily whimsical, it leaves me haunted, and this is good - a poem should leave behind a ghost of itself in some fashion...and this poem left me with a ghost. :) Loved reading it!

Elliott,

Why are you such a good writer?

I even get jealous from time to time.

Great poem.

I really liked,

"Even a smile can be found

I just don’t know if I can live with it".
