Snow Black

Snow Black

A Poem by Simon Welsh
"

She wears the ocean in her hair

"

She wears the ocean in her hair
An azure flow that shines in the sunlight
Was she born from precious dreams
Or formed in the crystal waves of the sea?

I almost drowned within her eyes
Her clear emerald shining into my dark blue
The sun never truly shone till she walked by
upon a blooming path of cherry blossom
I think I am in love
but I’ll never see her again

Snow Black, she weaves the night in thread
The moon beats softly with her heart
If only I knew her name
but I never had a chance... not one

Now she lives in the peaceful town
made of beauty and populated with angels
A place that exists beyond the hills
in sunset tones and gentle melodies
A rainbow path that leads her to the stars
forever drifting through my thoughts

I found this poem very enchanting and mysterious. Which is honestly my favorite aspects of any piece of writing. I am very impressed by the vocabulary and flow. I would have to say it is one of my new favorite poems.
