Waking Up in a DreamA Poem by Simon WelshI keep a jar of cold sunlight by my bed
Someone stick a pin the moon
so it won't float away Maybe then a lunar rose will bloom I keep a jar of cold sunlight by my bed so the mornings aren't so cruel though I'm shrouded in darkness still Gather the rain with your hands spread the joy over a blanket sky Soon, there'll be little sunbeams for hope I carved my name into the sky and let the clouds sweep my memories into a crystallized view of that moment... Then you rise, Spring is in bloom I hand you snowflakes and you hold them close Don't take away my sunshine I need something to look forward to Wake up beside me in this dream We'll let the rising waterfall carry us far beyond the Heavens © 2014 Simon WelshReviews
