Happy Hollow Day

Happy Hollow Day

A Poem by Simon Welsh
"

Every day

"
Someone needs to push the sun out of hiding
Wasting away under this sheet of noir
I used to wear my halo but I was undeserving
yet I'm believed to break the blank slate of the morn

Pick a rotten apple from the open hands of Nature
I can only see the stale pieces yawning for a touch
Why, in your hands, it shines with perfect gold
I guess I see the pearly glow of Spring emanate from you

Four walls clasping with brutal resolve
behind the concrete my heart scratches frustration
No angel or devil will ever present the missing piece
of my life, of my vile sustenance, of my escape

Your writing always inspires me. This poem makes me think of the daily trials and the ideals of new hope always on the horizon "it shines with perfect gold"
Strange how your poem suggests it could be in anothers hands when perhaps you may already have such power as suggested: "i used to wear my halo"
Beautiful poem always a pleasure to read your work. x

I love this so much! It has tranquity, beauty,
darkness, and such spirit I find it lovely and
creative. This is my new favorite all the way.
I'm going to say you deserve above 100 and over.
