For Us, For Everyone

For Us, For Everyone

A Poem by Simon Welsh
"

Creativity.

"
Here we are, ink and paper
soul on show for all to see
But nothing is solved
no matter how cathartic this is
it just makes me feel weary though not without triumph

Poets aren't beautiful but they sure are vain
No one has the right to claim ownership
of any creative urge when
that thread of inspiration belongs to us all

Here we are, ashes and fire
the debris of our lives is a beautiful mess
and nothing is solved
Just take a sip of red wine
and we'll fall back in laughter to the sound of the drum

her eyes were indigo and the cats were all
Calico and the sail boats they all sailed by... and a river she cried.

With cool and silvery eyes and a heart that was fit for desire,
drowned in a river of tears oh a river she cried left her with a heart... made of ashes and fire.

Yup, so that went through my mind at the ashes & fire line.
Another great write, well done

Great intriguing stuff! Second stanza, awesome. Poetry most definitely has two faces, well described.

This might be a new favourite of mine, Elliott.

Very true indeed. Although we gain the ability to let go of some things -- they are never solved. So perhaps it is best to heed the advice of taking that 'sip of red wine' and falling back 'in laughter to the sound of the drum'.

Really enjoyed this!

Make mine red, please....your observance is well noted, Elliott.

Here, here. Very astute and a glass of read never hurt. Great one.
