Defect of an Angel

Defect of an Angel

A Poem by Simon Welsh

I wanted a beautiful landscape
only without you there
Why am I such a bad person
if I want to avoid the sadness?

I'm just a defect of an angel
meant to perish with forgetfulness

I wish I never met you
because I was perfect before these scars
and now everyone can judge me
on the blood I once spilled

I'm just a defect of an angel
I'm an much an imitation of life

I wish I could understand you but
maybe I'd be close to understanding myself
Yeah, I may drink too much
but what else can I do?

All poets are defects of an angel. The flow is perfect here. Well done. xo

Just keep writing, Elliott...give the angst within yourself a voice, allow poetry to be the catharsis you need!

My best,
Kelly

Depending how you look at I guess we are all just defects of angels. Passionate write.

Maybe a bit of a typo in the fourth stanza.
