Ocean of TearsA Poem by Simon WelshFor a friend
You're the reason to stay up late
and waste my mornings in a dreamless haze Found the weakness within me was your greatest concern I don't understand why... You're the grey sunlight and the silver moon on my landscape each star is a smile to me Found the beauty within you is what you kept from others except for me You shine so bright I wish this ocean of tears didn't separate us because we'll never know You're the excuse for a lazy Sunday watching the mist wander through the spider webs in my garden In the colourless mornings I saw your azure eyes reflect the dim glow I wish I knew if this was more than a precious jewel that resides where my heart used to be I wish I knew what I felt and if I would be numb without you You're the IV within my arm that keeps me clinging to hope The taste of honey after the bland kiss of medicine The healing hands of Nature after a bruising night within this suburban Hell © 2013 Simon WelshFeatured Review
