A Beautiful Morning Alone

A Beautiful Morning Alone

A Poem by Simon Welsh
"

Winter, Solitude & Serenity.

"
My thoughts and dreams rest
on the wings of every sparrow
that is destined to fly into the morning
Forgotten.. but somehow beautiful

I want to whisper sweet words
that will resonate with every kind person
least so I have an inkling
that I am not alone

The sadness inside me feels like
the deepest poem never written
and forever unseen to prying eyes

There's a chill in the breeze
carried on by the early morning fog
I'm happy in this solitude
because I get to enjoy the first days of Winter...

I love the imagery in this piece.
Your thoughts and dreams pinned to the humble sparrow as it flies out the open window. Freed.
Your sweet words that resonate with the kindness of humanity...

It sounds like a wonderful morning and that you really put your heart in this. :)

Why hello perfection! Beautiful imagery.

The sadness inside me feels like
the deepest poem never written
and forever unseen to prying eyes

Loved these lines

The best part about your poems is mornings, each start with brightly lit morning though i've noticed a certain declination of mood while reaching the end.
This one was a combination of so many moods and i liked reading the transition between them from one stanza to another.

I very much enjoyed this stanza, although I'm not sure why

This is a lovely piece. The concept of thoughts and dreams flying on sparrows' wings... that's kind of an amazing feeling. This whole piece is liberating, as truth always is, and it reaches out to me on so many levels. Which is sad, but awesome. Good job. x

Lovely imagery! The first and last stanzas of this one are absolutely fantastic. They are quietly sublime, and yet very introspective. I love the way that I can almost feel the breeze and see the "forgotten" sparrow (great idea, by the way).
