Boredom.

I'm so bored with modern life
ever since Y2K failed to happen
everything has gone stale

Chained to a screen of light
because reality is dying young
as a headline, not a living person

You can't say we didn't try
we achieved something
another pitiful evolution

9-5 sounds like a death sentence
but being paid to sleep brings little
Damned if you do, damned if you are damned

Fake plastic girls smile so blandly
Fake plastic boys pretend to love
And we're supposed to bring up children in this world...

I remember Y2k So clearly... No water or batteries on store shelves.. It really was kind of surreal..

I have the sensation that ever since the early 1900s, and two world wars no one was ever able to see future as an utopia again. And we're all carring that burden to no end. At least that's what it has gotten me thinking about.
