cherry

cherry

A Poem by Simon Welsh
"

shoegaze poetry

"
saw your face reflected in the sky
my heart does not mirror yours
rather it fills with bitter loneliness
cherry red petals flutter so
and i cannot appreciate their beauty

when you shake your dark hair
my blue eyes seem to darken
you have no one but i want you
because i'll never feel more complete
than the feelings you inspire within me

hard to believe that your graceful touch
tore my world in two
i am twined with my doubt
you spin a galaxy patterned with tears
and magenta planets
each with a heart to steal

This is lovely, E. You've really out done yourself here, think this is my favourite of yours, ha. :) Loved the imagery in this piece, superb job!

"magenta planets" is a lovely image. You balance the out-of-reach well here. I like how all of the pronoun use of 'i' are lower-case.
