I Just Can't Wait

I Just Can't Wait

A Poem by Dwain Dowdy
"

Religious spiritual

"
I want to go where my heart wants most.
You see, I'm led by the Holy Ghost.
If I dont listen, my crown won't be.
But if i do it's for eternity.

Everyday I walk with Him.
He's my savior, and my best friend.
He's my shelter from the storm.
He's my rock, yeah He's my Lord

Looking back at times I've spent.
Living in sin Lord I must repent
He's right by my side
A wonderful feeling I just can't hide.

One day soon He'll come at last.
And I'll join that heavenly mass.
I'll meet my friends gone on before.
We'll celebrate on that golden shore.

I want to go forever more.
To a place I've never seen before.
Mercy awaits me beyond the gates.
I want to go Lord, I just can't wait.

I am very much spiritual minded, but sometimes I find scriptural poems to be a little stiff & predictable. Yours is not. I like that you've written this in a conversational way, rather than a preachy way. I feel you're honestly sharing your joy, rather than trying to convince people how to believe. To me, this is the way to entice people . . . just show how good it can feel. (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
