Shall the lightening strike

Shall the lightening strike

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Shall the lightening strike

Stand firm because I can feel you

The fallout scathing

But my lips will heal your burns

Wounds fresh and scarring

God put me hear to save you.

Please call me soon baby.

Between the wasted days

And restless taunting midnights

I am growing

Electric as the lightening

And the storm that is bringing us closer together

Yet further apart.

My foundation

Forged on crystal

Is high voltage proof

Just like the hand that wants to hold yours.

When the storms become tretchory

Let me be your safety

I will dry your body

I will block the thunder from your ears

Your sky will still be cloudy

But that doesn’t bother me at all

Because I can see the beauty of grey.

I will see the color in your horizon

Leading your pale heart into the starlight

After the lightening has struck.
