Frost

Frost

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Frost

they say it's coming

to cover the trees and the streets and the windows

everything will be cold and new

white and frozen

sitting in patience til the sun comes to thaw

those intentions of a life for the future.

The streets will be still

the silent applause

hanging in the air

meant for the ears of those of us

who stayed for the long haul.

our reward will be our misty white breath

which escapes to heaven and hell

telling whoever is in control of the crystal cool air

that we are ready to love and grow and be

just as we have always wanted.

I like Frost, Poe and Dickenson LOL seriously I like this poem, it did remind me that I have to clear my windows before going home from work.

You have the capacity to do so much... and you do, and you do it so well. I never know what to expect. One click a love poem, the next a rant, then a beautiful salutation to the onset of Winter. A perfect encapsulation of a season as I have ever read. In turn both tactile and emotive. Truly gourgeous. Truly gifted
