Intentions of the lady in waiting.

Intentions of the lady in waiting.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

I smile at the sun
Thanking for the slight burn I feel
It has your name written all over it
Like the truth I can’t erase from my heart.
My frank and simple ideas are confirmed.
You are the beacon and I am the lady in waiting.
Please see my waving favor in the distance
It is the signal for you to come home.
The waves crash on the sand
And my intentions get carried with the undertow
I miss you so much today
My soul hears you saying that when I sleep I shall see you
But my body wants to feel your body tonight
If I can not I will survive until the sea of fate brings you to me
And I shall slowly sustain the sun on my skin
Knowing that for love, sometimes you must burn.
