Love in middle.

Love in middle.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

You have a hold on me
Solid as a fact
I have a tendency to doubt you
Yet I follow, hoping, and wishing.

Hear me now my big time attraction
The cheap seats are calling
And I am in the middle
Waving my banner high
Blocking the view of the masses trying to grab your eye
Its all good because I know those eyes are meant for me
And those other faces are just that, other faces.

And they cheer for you
Nodding in the trance you put on
 Captivated by statements
That you throw out like parade candy
And their hands are full of you.

But I want more, and a different take
The ugly, the sad and the not for public
The man I know you are

Do not sell me shiny
My eyes are sensitive and my soul is dirty
I collect damaged toys but I want to replace them with you
Because you fit in so nicely with the crazy life I have made for myself
In this freak show I call reality.

Wow! Very, very nice! There is a rawness to this, (not in your face), just subtle enough to rock the boat. I enjoyed this!
