Bored demon scribbling.A Poem by Sarah McKeever HittThis just is what it is.The unfinished work of your heart Fastened itself to my torn up mentality. And nestled in and caused me so much drama That I had to seek a fortune teller’s wisdom To keep from freaking out.
All in your name. Your name is from a demon’s scribbling That it does when he is bored on a random night as he sits in Hell with idle hands and a brand new pen.
You held no conclusion or consequence yet you were mine.
You. Incomplete and beneath me
Three years wasted Minutes and seconds, and breaths and explanations My neck was on the line your guilt questioned more quietly but I tried to bring you to justice. Held you out in front of a hanging jury And yet, even with all the proof You walked away unscathed While the noose all but broke my fragile neck All for you and for the ever hardening sin Of being in love with someone Not worth my most passing thoughts. © 2011 Sarah McKeever HittReviews
