mere girl.

mere girl.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

I feel like I have been slapped in the soul by the hand of

whichever diety holds my delicate fate in the balance

The stars yelled out to me from their seats in the back.

"This one will bring the beats, the melody and the glory"

They were talking about you.

A mere girl as I can not help but fall to her knees

and hope that the storm of divinity passes over her

leaving her unscathed in it's wake, for mere girl is only human

and the dark night sky doesn't bode well for fear.

But all that is not important, I have to get ready for lucidity.

I have to get ready for you.

All those stars in the eyes of those who behold you

and the long nights where you rage and I watch

the intensity and the trembling and the all around

Must mean the demons and the angels agree

that it is time for me to love you.

#### me this is good. Really good. It hits you right between the eye's like a razored axe, buries its way into your brain and leaves images, phrases and emotions that just won't leave. This is poetry as it should be and serves as one of the base lines I draw my reading lines against. You might guess. I like it.

A troubled plot lends to the character you build, flows perfectly with a twist to satisfy even the most jaded of readers, well done, good read.
