Shinier than the stars.

Shinier than the stars.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Transfixed

That is the word I am looking for

My gaze is transfixed

On you

Freed heart

Allowed to explore potential

My heart is freed from chains

For you

Built up

To be shinier than the stars

I have built my self up, in preparation

For you.

Faith filled

For the rest of my life

I promise to be faith filled

About you

I am here

With my heart on my sleeve

Pledging my life,  handing it over

To you.

Take it, please

Don’t break my heart

Keep it safe, I am counting,

On you.

this poem does a good job of describing the enormity of the act of loving someone. how much is given. how much is risked.
