Lightning bolts

Lightning bolts

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Hold the simplicity of my hand

and let got the complexities of your head

this is a dream we are in.

Instantly drawn together

with potions and motions

we raise our fists and join our bodies

through out the night

And it is fast

and we are so instep.

This could be forever

this night could be all we know

with it's flash bulb speed,

honking car horns and

aching feet from too high of heels

It could be our future,

but lava cools and gets hard

and the daylight star will heat the world.

And in the last days of my life

this will all just  be a journal entry

written about two lightning bolts

that touched down tonight
