Luciferious

Luciferious

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

The edge of night and reason

Billowing curtains, are dusty and tattered.

The faintest whisper of a cat's subtle purr

from lifetimes I can no longer remember,

all cry in unison,

Luciferious.

Dark angel of the long since remorsed

hold tightly to my innocent heart tonight

I fear that I am far from the angel of grace you remember

when you took me when I was still but a child

to forever breath the name I fear the most

Luciferious.

My inner most soul shouts to you,

creature of the night.

"O' how did thou know to save me  from the daylight

when that was all my heart knew?"

Answer me this before I breath one more breath in vain

Luciferious.
