Harsh words

Harsh words

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt
"

It's been a pleasure.

"
Does it make me a bad person
that I took advantage of
Your advances
your presence?

Replacing your face
with his
you not knowing
that I didn't even see you.

Because I am not sorry for that.

You are shamelessly innocent
It's just a matter of right place wrong time.
Is that so wrong?
If it is, it doesn't matter.

Because you are
nothing more than a substitute
for something just out of my reach
that I misplaced long ago.

that's pretty cold. honest and well-written, but cold. wouldn't want it to be written to or about me.
