Exonerate

Exonerate

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt
"

This is not a religious writing. It is about a woman who does horrible things because of her unrequited love. "His love" is not referring to God.

"
You should know I understand,

I understand at last
that which motivates
captivates
and exonerates your mind,
It is his love

I understand at last
that which holds
molds
and sold your mind,
it is his love.

I understand at last
that which nurtures
captures
and tortures your mind,
it is his love

I understand at last
that which supplies
denies
and lies to your mind,
it is his love

But

Be wary of actions
words
and deeds done
in favor of his love

Be wary of treason
reasons
and grudges set forth
in favor of his love

Be wary of thoughts
ideals
and perspectives gained
in favor of his love

Because

You will not find
define
or refine yourself in his love

You will not thrive
survive
or become alive in his love

You will not achieve
breathe
or believe in yourself in his love

His love
is killing you

His love
is not real.

Move on.

C**k-blocking in all its vain-gloriousness. An interesting work of art indeed.
