Be still my aching heart

Be still my aching heart

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Be still my aching heart
take solace in the silence
be blinded by the pain
and someday you will see
this is all part of the game

Hold tight to yourself
and find a moments rest
though the night is dark
the sun will come up
and you will beat again

Feel no guilt tonight
just catch your breath
and start over again
there is no sin in sleeping
just be sure to set the alarm

Be still my aching heart
take this moment for it's worth
hold tight to your resolve
find strength in your convictions
when you wake, all will be well.

I promise.
