Heavy with you

Heavy with you

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

The air is heavy with you today
sinking into every pore and my every thought
The moments stretching into hours and all because of this distance
The limits you put on me.
I tell myself to not take it personaly
making myself believe that the ground I stand on is sturdy
but in the quiet of my mind I know that I am not convinced
The honest part of me knows that you aren't trusting of me
and the lying part of me tries to prove the innocence of my intent
But you don't buy it and I can't blame you for that.
And yet, the air is heavy with you today.
And I can't help but curse God for being so cruel.

In the stillness of a darkened room, I see this poetry playing out. Perhaps the only the soft drone of a fan plays in the background and time being kept by the ticking of a clock. Upon the screen flickers the memories of the hurt of the displaced lover. And you...you are paralyzed by the pain. Intensely you search for the solutions to calm the nerves and soothe the pain...in the quiet and stillness.
Powerfully written, disturbingly honest...100% genuine.

Very perfect.
