exposed

exposed

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

In the darkness the lies are lost

sin exposed for what it really is

an honest exchange of love

Fogs cover the exposed scars

and we become each others souls

set free of traps set up by our peers

relentless in the quest to just be together.

We don't hide the way we want each other

the moment allows for us to do just that.

Hands on skin that long since wanted to be felt

hoping to God that the lights never come back on.

Written in the heart of a poet, honest labor of a authentic soul, parting truth from fiction as an actor parts the curtains on the stage of life, ready to lose herself in the waves of performance, touching art and in the touching, embracing the warmth of truth. If others can't see it, that's their problem, not yours. Tightly rendered, beautifully executed.
