Who?

Who?

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

It is dark

Night has fallen upon me.

A candle flicker is my only light.

Who would have thought  the night could be so black?

My heart is cold.

I am trapped in my mind by my memories.

A warm breeze blows somewhere far away.

Who would have imagined the night could be so cold?

Silence

It serves only to remind me of you.

Your laughter and words of love are no longer to me.

Who would have known the silence of the night could be so deafening?
