Damn you

Damn you

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

To you

I wish I could be less up front with how I feel.
I wish I didn't constantly search for reassurance from you.
I wish I didn't want to know if you wanted me
I wish I could be blase about you
But I can not.
I can't help it.
I am sorry.
I am
You know the power you hold over me.
You know that I am powerless against it
You know that you love how I flock to your whims
You know it
Damn you.
Why can't you tell me that you want me
Why can't you be the one to find me
Why can't you just be honest
Why can't you actually love me
Why?
Because you can't
And you won't
And I wont leave
and you know it.
Damn you.
Damn
You.
