mirrored glitter

mirrored glitter

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

I danced in the mirrored glitter
held my hands to your hands
lifted my feet in motion matching beats
from the confident musician in the back
as your placed your hand on my hips
while telling me that the night belongs to dreamers
my eyes blinked and for a moment I feared that you'd disappear
but you did not, instead
you made the music louder
I could not find reality
It didn't matter because I am a fanciful girl
What more could I have asked for?
Perhaps for the song to be longer
