Framed nicely in words that speak quietly

Framed nicely in words that speak quietly

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Tragic I am not
willful perhaps
dedicated no doubt
never traumatic
because this is a story in a journal
But don't be scared of slander.
You will be framed nicely
in words that speak quiet
to strangers behind curtains
so I can not see their faces
judging my broken heart
for all it's pain and glee
that it took on when you left me.
I relished in the pain
and was hurt by the joy
but both emotions melded nicely
into a sort of security blanket that covered me for years
until today when I finally am able to say,
tragic I am not
willful perhaps
dedicated no doubt
but my journal is not traumatic
because love lives there.
