Dark Horse Riding Stranger.

Dark Horse Riding Stranger.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

This is just about the most beautiful day
the temptation of sleep is gone
Heaven is not crying on the streets
the world is inviting more than boredom and apathy
The streets are covered in golden hope
the sound of the wind is bringing out the best in the trees
House window panes are dripping with the radiant heat of sunshine
The grass is growing just that much faster
The emotional beats of the souls passing by flow rampant
clogging the wells with ecstatic joy for the first time in eternity
One would think that all is well, and it should be
By the road side positivity stand leans a dark horse riding stranger
My eyes are the only that see the energy he shines off onto the unsuspecting
and I could be wrong, but he looks a lot like you.
