Not for nothing.

Not for nothing.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

The little girl in me screams
at the moon
it looks like your face in the sky
and you are shining for a different dreamer
And I am slowly waking up.
And I will be moving on
But promise I can not to the stars
since the hardened scars burn
I will fill the portions blank
with lessons learned from loving my version of you.
This snowy night seems colder tonight
holding the emotion behind my goodbye
how cruel frantic heart
the beating is just so loud
and in this crowded heartbreak world
it will go unheard while the water takes the last of you from me
Frozen falling from heaven
upn my naive palm
I will stop screaming tears tomorrow
assuming I have moved on
