I have no words.

I have no words.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

I have no words.

for the first time in forever
you are not my subject
and I am not your woeful mourner/

i thought truth would free
the woman underneath my veil
but I am still hidden
now that you are gone.

So maybe it was not you
who kept me bound in invisible chains
Perhaps the warden is my fear
that I am worth more than you/

Because I still can't help but think
that I lost out when I gave you up
even though the sun is shining over my head
with more colors than you know possible.
