Tame me Father for I am wild.

Tame me Father for I am wild.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Forgive me Father for I have sinned
Stolen kisses in moments of darkness
I have caused rapture and fever
with just the touch of my fingertips.

Scorn me Father for I am not innocent
I knew that which I had done
making fire in your light and lust from your love
with not a moment's thought of justice

Tame me Father for I am wild
a creature of abandon and whimsy
Taking all and leaving none in my wake
of fantasies of the flesh.
