Forgive the sun

Forgive the sun

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Forgive the sun
because it shines for you
Making no distinction
between your desires and mine

By the sparks we will see
whether our intent matters
because as the moon rises
we will be left with our thoughts
and hopefully each other's company

As if I were watching
to see for myself
our story is told
whether we pay attention or not.

so it is set into motion
the sun shining
from the love of my world
to yours
