into the green

into the green

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

The strange wind,

bringing all the change needed

to bring your spirit back to par,

is blowing through the trees today.

If you listen very carefully

you can hear my intentions for you.

I wish you love

amongst all the chaos that I also wish for you.

You cannot truly know one with out the other

and I want you to know love.

Bear down through the gales

and weather the storm

because the green of the afterglow

is what fate wants for us.

In moments of rain

let the water take you to me

I am waiting with dry clothes

and love that you never knew

Built to last and rust proof-

this resolve that destiny cast

upon two hearts that broke

many years ago.

We just have to believe.
